Newsletter #5 – More on Next Campout

Fundraising Report

A very big “THANK YOU!” to everyone who helped us out at our Bake Sale at the Masses last weekend. We made $436 for the Stella Maris Explorers Group, and our Otter and Timber Wolves handed out nearly 500 postcards promoting our movement to very interested and supportive parish families as they left Mass. We’ve already been contacted by several families as a result of this! We are planning another “Open House” informational presentation for interested families this month.

Timber Wolf Camp Out

Our second Timber Wolf campout is just a week away. Please confirm with us by Monday if you will be there so we can get a headcount for the meals. Parents, please ask your Timber Wolves to pack their own bags. One of their requirements for their Promise Ceremony is that they should know how to prepare their knapsack for outings as stated in their Timber Wolf manual (pages 49-51). They can use this packing list to help them. Please arrive at 4:00 PM at Camp Owaissa Bauer Campground located at: 17001 SW 264 Street, Homestead, FL 33031. As with our last campout, we will conclude with the 10:30 am Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Upcoming Adult Retreats

We encourage parents to take the time to nurture their own faith. Our children’s spirituality is strengthened when they witness strong spiritual leadership at home. One way to do this is to attend a spiritual retreat. I can personally testify to the amazing fruits of experiences like these. These are some upcoming adult retreats that we wanted to let you know about:
