Newsletter #1 – A Great Start

Hello Parents,

Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We got off to a great start on Tuesday and, from all accounts, everyone had an excellent time! Forgive the long email, I have several items to tell you about…

You should have received your T-shirts, neckerchiefs and woggles on Tuesday. Timberwolves should have two T-shirts and Otters should have one. Please let me know if you are missing anything or if you received the wrong size so we can correct it at the next meeting. The remaining items are on order. We are unfortunately experiencing some delays in obtaining items that come from international sources but we hope to have them in time for our first camping trip.

1st Camping Trip

As you know, we have our first camping trip scheduled for November 8 – 10 at John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo. The FNE Founder and Commissioner, Akela Paul from Toronto, Canada will be joining us. Any fathers who wish to join us must complete the required Virtus training and background checks. I will send a follow-up email in a few days with more information including a list of items to pack for the trip.

Timber Wolf Howl

Please share these videos with your Timber Wolf sons and review the attached instructions on how to do the Timber Wolf “Howl.” We want to try to know it well so we can make Akela Paul from Toronto proud when he meets us in person at our camping trip!

If you know anyone who still wants to join Stella Maris FNE, please let them know that we are closing off enrollment this weekend so we can finalize our uniform orders and the headcount for our camping trip. We will have a second enrollment period in January.

Summer Camp

A few parents have asked me about our Summer Camp program. The summer program is primarily for Timber Wolves but Explorers can also attend if they are not going to EuroJam (see below). The Summer Camp will take place at Camp Endobanah on Shadow Lake in Norland, Ontario, Canada from Friday, July 4th to Sunday, July 13th. By all accounts, it will be a great experience that your boys will love! Dads are welcome to join us and help out at no cost to them. You can get more information here:

Explorers (or Timber Wolves that will turn 12 in 2014) can attend the international FSE scout jamboree known as EuroJam in Metz, France. This is an amazing event that happens only once every 10 years. As many as 10,000 FSE brothers from more than 20 countries are expected to attend. You can find more info here:

As always, feel free to email or call me if you have any questions.

God bless you and your families!
